KONBIT MIZIK ANNOUNCES OFFICIAL MUSIC VIDEO RELEASE OF "NEG GHETTO PA KRIMINÈL" WITH FREE MP3 DOWNLOAD

Konbit Mizik, a 501c3 non-profit organization providing free music production services, education, and community service opportunities in Haiti, is proud to announce the official music release of our latest music video "Neg Ghetto Pa Kriminèl" (tr. Ghetto Kid is not a Criminal). Founded in the wake of the 2010 earthquake, Konbit Mizik made and has kept a promise to encourage and promote the music of underground artists as a vehicle for social and economic change.

"Neg Ghetto Pa Kriminèl" is a collaboration between different artists from Port-au-Prince - Moreflo and Shakim from the group Trinity; Fenomen; and General Ad Boy from the group Brain Master - and was produced by acclaimed Haitian beat maker Zaktouch.

The social significance of the song must not be overlooked. Despite the negative stereotyping, "ghetto youth" are strong, resilient, and virtuous leaders in their respective communities, and are often unfairly targeted because of fear and lack of understanding.

Consistent with Konbit Mizik's mission to harness the power of music to empower, educate, and uplift Haiti's most vulnerable youth, this music video will be seen and heard by countless young Haitians and we hope its positive message will inspire many to achieve great things. Without question, Haiti's strength is in our unity, and our bright future rests on the shoulders of even the most disadvantaged communities.
